Bernard joined the erstwhile partnership of Van Zyl Le Roux and Hurter as a professional assistant in 1988 and upon the incorporation of the partnership into a professional company in 1989, Bernard became a director of VZLR.
Bernard heads VZLR's Conveyancing and Real Estate Department, attending to the transfer of immovable property, registration of mortgage bonds, notarial bonds, servitudes, antenuptial contracts and other notarial documents. Bernard also attends to the establishment of township and sectional title developments. Bernard is a past Chairman of the Conveyancing Examination Committee. He is also a keen sportsman and an avid adventurer.

Esté joined VZLR in 2000 and became a director in 2002. Esté is the senior Director in VZLR's Banking and Financial Law department and attends to High Court litigation, Insolvency matters, Banking and Financial Law matters,

JC served his articles at VZLR in 2006 in the Conveyancing and Real Estate Development department. During February 2007, JC was appointed as a professional assistant at VZLR
after being admitted as an attorney, conveyancer and notary. In September 2007 JC moved to Nelspruit where he heads up VZLR's Nelspruit branch and during March of 2008, he was appointed as a director of VZLR. JC mostly deals with all aspects of conveyancing, property development and related property law matters.

In 2003 and prior to joining VZLR, Tamara was employed as a Judges Clerk in the High Court of South Africa, situated in Pretoria. She joined VZLR in 2004 as a candidate attorney and was admitted as an
attorney, and appointed as a professional assistant in VZLR's General Litigation department, in January 2007.
Tamara was appointed as a director of VZLR in September 2010 and practices in the General Litigation department.

Theo was admitted as an attorney and notary in 2008. Shortly after finishing his articles he spent some time in a consulting environment. After the consulting stint he joined VZLR and became a director in 2012.
Theo was appointed as the Managing Director of VZLR with effect from 1 March 2022 and is a member of various VZLR committees.

Wihann Joubert joined VZLR in 2010. Since he completed his LLB Degree at the University of South Africa the plight of the disenfranchised due to medical malpractice became his focus. Wihann was admitted as an Attorney during December 2012 and
immediately thereafter was appointed as a professional assistant in VZLR's Personal Injury, Medical Law and Third Party Claims Department. Wihann’s Masters Degree juxta posed two contentious subjects currently heavily debated in South Africa: The Constitution of South Africa and Personal Injury caused by asphyxia at birth.
He completed his Master’s degree in Medical Law and Ethics cum laude at the University of Pretoria in 2017. Wihann appeared on National Television (Carte Blanche) in 2017 as subject matter specialist to contextualise Constitutional consequences of personal injury caused by medical negligence. Willem obtained his LLB degree from the University of Pretoria in 2007, was admitted as an attorney in 2008 and as a conveyancer in 2009.
Willem started to practice at Els, Louw and Rasool Inc in 2007 and continued at that firm as a senior associate up to November 2019. Willem gained valuable experience in managing the daily operations that firm's Nelspruit branch office from 2007 to 2017 after which he moved to Secunda to assist the firm's head office from 2017 to November 2019.

Louise Swart is an admitted attorney, with right of appearance in the High court. She graduated from the University of Pretoria with a LLB degree in 2003 and LLM (Specialising in Insolvency Law) in 2004.
She also obtained her AIPSA Diploma in insolvency law in 2004. In 2016 Louise graduated with an MBA degree, specialising in Financial Management in relation to Business Rescues.

Mihlali Matibe-Nesengani holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Commerce in Law (BCom Law) from the University of Pretoria. Before joining VZLR, Mihlali completed a Master of Philosophy in Public Policy (MPP) at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, as part of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship programme.
Mihlali's legal career began in 2017 when she joined a leading law firm, as a Candidate Attorney. During this time, Mihlali gained exposure to a variety of legal practices, including medial insurance litigation, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and intellectual property (IP). She was admitted as an attorney in 2019 and promoted to an Associate in the Technology, Media, Telecommunications, and Intellectual Property (TMT & IP) practice, in which she advised local and international clients on IP protection, trademark litigation, and licensing agreements.
In late 2019, Mihlali took on a role as a Law Researcher at the Constitutional Court of South Africa, working closely with Justices Mbuyiseli Madlanga and Margaret Victor. Leenke obtained her LLB degree from the North-West University, Pukke Campus in Potchefstroom in December 2011. She enrolled for a Masters in International Import- and Export Law, with specialised focus on Sea Zone Rights in January 2012.

Manfred obtained his LLB degree from the University of South Africa in November 2019. He commenced his articles of clerkship with Hill, McHardy & Herbst Inc in Bloemfontein. He completed his articles of clerkship with GMI Attorneys in Pretoria.

Emmy graduated for her Bachelor of Arts in Law in 2015 and she obtained her LLB in 2017, both at the North - West University, Potchefstroom Campus. She thereafter commenced her articles as a Candidate Attorney at VZLR in 2018,

Emmy has a bubbly personality and lights up any room at any given instance, despite the seriousness and how nerve wrecking our profession may be. She has recently committed to taking long distance walks on weekends and her favourite treat is taking a nap on a Sunday afternoon.
Gabriel obtained his LLB degree at the University of South Africa during October 2019 and is currently completing his LLM degree in Labour Law at the University of the Witwatersrand. Gabriel joined VZLR as a candidate attorney in January 2020 and was admitted as an attorney in September 2021.

Courtney obtained her BCom Law degree in 2019 and LLB degree in 2020, both from the University of Pretoria. During January 2021, Courtney joined VZLR as a candidate attorney and was admitted as an attorney in August 2023.
During articles, Courtney gained experience in Medical Malpractice, Third Party Claims, Commercial Law, General Litigation and Taxation. Courtney attends to Corporate and Commercial Matters and litigation in the High Court and Magistrates’ Court.
Courtney is passionate about fashion and football and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is also an Executive Member of the Pretoria Attorneys Association.

Tshegofatso graduated with an LLB degree in 2016 at the University of South Africa.
She thereafter commenced serving her articles as a candidate attorney at Moche Attorneys (then RAF panel attorneys) in 2016 in their personal injury claims department. She dealt with both Magistrates and High Court matters.
She was admitted as an Attorney of the High of South Africa in February 2018. She went on to practice in personal injury claims matters at Mashapa Attorneys. She joined GMT Attorneys in 2021 where she acquired experience in RAF matters, Family law matters, labour law matters and contract law.
She joined VZLR in 2024 in their Personal Injury and Third Party Claims Department as a junior attorney and is currently preparing to write her notarial examination.
Tshegofatso is what we call an ambivert. She can be a loner at times and bubbly and talkative in other times. It just depends on the environment she finds herself in. She likes to relax by having a nice picnic outdoors.
